K-Drama Reaction: Radiant Office | Episode 14

And the dreaded day has finally arrived, but it is not the announcement we expected. Only two made the cut, leaving one misfit behind. I know we have to face this heartbreak soon enough, and I thought I was prepared for it all series long, but the disappointment I felt when Marketing General Manager Seo Woo-jin (Ha Suk-jin) announced Jang Kang-ho (Hoya) and Eun Ho-won (Go Ah-sung) as the two new full-time employees, I want to immediately run off and hug Do Ki-taek (Lee Dong-hwi).

Ki-taek oppa deserves the spot best, but why on earth he was left out? What was the reason behind his fail mark? I hope I would get enough answer to prove this unjust decision. Maybe something is yet to unfold in the last two episodes of this drama, but honestly, I do not know what to expect anymore. Ki-taek’s crying moment in the toilet cubicle is so heart-wrenching, and I cannot imagine how he will ever recuperate from this announcement.

As much as I hated Ha Ji-na in the first half of the series for breaking Ki-taek’s heart, I want their relationship to succeed now. He is willing to become the best version of him for Ji-na, so that he can give her a burden-free life. I just hope their love will stay as strong forever, no matter how hard the aftermath of this announcement can be.

Kang-ho also delivered so much improvement in this episode. After his recruitment as a full-time employee, he made up with his mother and decided to live independently. His developing noona-admiration for Manager Cho Suk-kyung is so cute too!

Although I think this show really does not focus on the love line between Ho-won and Woo-jin anymore, I think the show-runners are giving effort these past few episodes. The relationship between the employee and her boss is slightly developing, especially during Ho-won’s dongsaeng’s visit. Their card games, binge-eating scenes are a welcome sight for me.

Also, I don’t know where Ho-won gets her self-confidence, but sometimes I want to stop her for talking back too much against her superiors. I gave up on Chief Director Seo Hyun’s character a long time ago, and I am exasperated with his ways of managing the company. I even hoped for him to change the path of Hauline’s seemingly destructive state, but now I conclude that he is not different with other corrupt executives of the company.

But the way Ho-won slammed him for the fake recruitment in the design contest mechanics, it’s not just right. Your boss might be power tripping and mismanaging the company, but it does not give you any right to stand up like that, and attack all your superiors. You have to learn how to respect, girl, so you will earn the respect from other people, too.
