It seems like idol-turned-actors will continue to steal the limelight in the dramaverse these days. f(x)’s Krystal Jung (Bride of the Water God) and WINNER’s Kang Seung-yoon (High Kick) are reportedly both in talks to join Shin Won-ho PD’s upcoming drama Prison Playbook.
Some of you may disagree with me on this but as a fan of the Reply franchise, I know that Shin PD is quite good in squeezing out the talent from actors who lack in the acting department. So I trust PD-nim, especially after he made Hyeri shine in Reply 1988. But please drama gods, can we stop casting idols and bank on rising talented actors instead?
Jung Kyung-ho (Missing 9, One More Happy Ending) and Park Hae-soo (Legend of the Blue Sea) were both recently confirmed as part of the ensemble.
Prison Playbook is about the lives of inmates in prison and will be aired on tvN’s Wednesday-Thursday slot in October.
