The political drama is at its peak in this hour as the aftermath of Finance Minister Eun’s untimely death.
- MINISTER EUN’S DEATH
San (Yoona) is a mess after realizing that her loving father died inside the Queen’s quarters, especially after discovering his medicine near the Queen’s tea set. If I were her, I would doubt the Queen, too. Rin rescues San inside the palace, and took her and her father’s body home for a proper wake and funeral.
The evil forces are in full speed in luring Rin (Hong Jong-hyun) to their side as the death of Minister Eun was blamed at Won’s mother Princess Wonseung. An impressive execution of the killing was perfectly laid out, and one would really think that the Queen was behind the death.
But the Queen is still Kublai Khan’s daughter after all, and immediately punishes her eunuch for spying on her. Threatening to castrate his son and turn her mother blind, the eunuch spills out some important revelations about Song-in’s (Oh Min-suk) side and their plans.
- WONRIN NO MORE?
Now that the Queen is aware that Song-in will be after the royal throne by enthroning Wang Rin as the Crown Prince, Won (Siwan) will surely be in danger. But my current favorite bromance is as strong as ever! Won believes that Rin can never betray him, and still thinks of him as his loyal friend. Rin, on the other hand, is trying to come up a plan to leave with San. He is now more expressive of his feelings for San, and is finally standing up against Won!
I am really excited as to how Rin will accept Song-in’s offer to become the Crown Prince now that he is aware that he will be backed by King Chungnyeol. Rin is triggered by the recent death of San’s father, so I won’t be surprised if he will do it to protect San.
I love Won, especially after writing that heartfelt letter for San. He recounts how he chose San over Rin before, and he is choosing Rin over her this time. He announces his official engagement to Rin’s sister Dan (Park Hwan-hee) as his own way to protect everyone he loves. Asking San to stay with him this time may seem selfish, but that’s his way of getting what he wants without hurting so many people.
GRUMPY ALLEY
A sad OST for San’s mourning heart.
