BACK ON THEIR FEET
Nothing really beats the feeling of knowing that the person you love is confident in your dreams. Choi Kang-soo (Go Kyung-pyo) found the determination to start again after Lee Dan-ah (Chae Soo-bin) told him that she wants to see him succeed. Her decision not to leave the country anymore and stay by his side instead also boosted Kang-soo’s will to make the Strongest Deliveryman work.
It’s amazing how the odds seem to be on Kang-soo’s side this time. Kang-soo and his team were able to find solutions to the restaurant owners’ dilemmas concerning their ingredients, loans, and rent, making it possible for them to open the neighborhood’s Restaurant Row. This positive development posed a huge threat to the Jung family restaurant, and the proof is on their declining sales figures.
I’m happy that Kang-soo’s delivery app business isn’t only helping the small restaurant owners, but is also building a strong bond among the neighborhood’s delivery boys. I particularly love how they welcomed Oh Jin-gyu (Kim Seon-ho), who by the way looked so cute in a mascot costume, to the group. Hmmm… Did I just mistook Jin-gyu’s gratefulness for Dan-ah for something romantic? Jin-gyu looked so comfortable around Kang-soo and Dan-ah that I’m now starting to think that he never really fell for her. What do you think?
RELATIONSHIP STATUS: IT’S COMPLICATED
This episode also showed us the complicated statuses of most of this drama’s relationships. Well, Kang-soo and Dan-ah are obviously not included as this couple’s relationship continues to grow stronger especially with the life challenges that they faced and survived together. Dan-ah even opened a bit more about herself to Kang-soo by telling him about her suicide attempt years ago. I’m truly very happy with how Kang-soo’s love changed Dan-ah’s life perspective. His dream made Dan-ah believe that there is still hope in Hell Joseon. We also saw in one of the past episodes how Kang-soo’s treatment of his friends like his own family made Dan-ah feel guilty for wishing to be an orphan. I could feel that Kang-soo will also be the reason for Dan-ah to patch things up with her family and I hope that when it happens, Kang-soo will also be able to find forgiveness for his mother.
The complicated relationship statuses that I’m talking about are those of Ji-yoon and Jin-gyu, Min-chan (Heo Ji-won) and Yeon-ji (Nam Ji-hyun), and Master Cook Jang Dong-soo (Jo Hee-bong) and Joker Ahjumma Soon-ae (Lee Min-young).
With Ji-yoon and Jin-gyu, I could feel that the latter is starting to feel something special for our innocent baby girl and I can’t wait for him to finally realize it. I just hope that Ji-yoon omma won’t be much of a threat for our second OTP’s love affair.
For Min-chan, I wish for him to have enough strength to approach Yeon-ji especially now that Dan-ah discovered her sideline as a karaoke bar worker. Though the two girls were able to talk and settle the issue, I know it will be better for Yeon-ji to have Min-chan by her side to make her feel that she isn’t alone.
Lastly, Master Cook Jang and Joker Ahjumma seriously have to move on from their past and start a relationship together and be happy because they deserve it.
Ahhh, how time flies! Would you believe next week is this drama’s finale? See you!
