KBS gets Jang Dong-gun, Park Hyung-sik for Suits’ Korean remake

After Criminal Minds, Suits is the next American series to be remade in Korea, and KBS has already secured a strong pairing for its leads.

Jang Dong-gun (VIP) and Park Hyung-sik (Strong Woman Do Bong-soon) have already signed on to play the counterparts of the original series’ Harvey Specter and Mike Ross, respectively.

The upcoming remake will be Jang Dong-gun’s drama comeback five years after A Gentleman’s Dignity. He will take on the role of charismatic lawyer Choi Kyung-seo who will illegally take under his wings the genius Go Yeon-woo, to be played by Park Hyung-sik, as his associate.

Suits is a popular legal drama in the U.S. that has already been on for seven seasons so expectations are high for its Korean remake to be as good. This is slated for a 2018 premiere on KBS.
