Ooops, calm down everyone! Choi Kang-hee and Kwon Sang-woo will be returning for Mystery Queen 2 as the ahjumma detective and her brusque partner duo we all love.
The reported shake-up will be on the show’s crew and supporting cast. PD Choi Yoon-seok (Chief Kim) will now be taking over Mystery Queen 2 after the first season’s director, PD Kim Jin-woo, bowed out of the show due to his commitment to the Korean remake of Suits.
Now, the more disappointing news is that Lee Won-geun and Shin Hyun-been are reportedly not returning for the drama’s second season. It is still unclear whether their characters will simply not return or will be replaced. Lee Won-geun played the role of an adorable police officer-turned-detective, while Shin Hyun-been portrayed the shady lawyer who almost succeeded in getting Kang Sang-woo engaged to her last season.
Mystery Queen 2 is tentatively scheduled to premiere in February 2018 on KBS.
