Annyeong my beloved K-Drama drunkards, our paths cross once again. Let this journey be full of heart thumping scenes and daebak oppaness. First things first, I decided to take Two Cops for this sole reason, Cho Jung-seok. So please bear with me if this whole series reaction will have chronic occasional thirst posts. Kekeke.
Let’s get down to business, shall we?
Meet our three main characters:
Cha Dong-tak (Cho Jung-seok) – a devoted and fierce cop of the Violent Crimes Unit who is out to find justice for his slain partner at all costs.
Song Ji-an (Hyeri) – a determined news reporter whose fate got inertwined with Cha Dong-tak while trying to get an exclusive.
Gong Su-chang (Kim Seon-ho) – a sly conman who is being framed for the death of Cha Dong-tak’s partner. His spirit will possess the police officer’s body.
Tipsy Musings
Cho Jung-seok oppa boasted his acting skills as early as the drama’s premiere. He already displayed his versatility as an actor when his heart died along with his partner, when he gave us convincing action scenes and when he assured us that he’ll deliver humorous episodes.
On the other hand, K-netz have aired their dismay over Hyeri’s acting. For me, though, I find her performance okay. Sure, she gets buttery in some scenes but I believe it’s still too early to judge her theatricals. I want to give her the chance to bring me to the mind and soul of Song Ji-an. Hyeri has received too many criticisms since her acting debut, and in my opinion I don’t think she’ll waste this great opportunity to prove her worth as an actress.
The premise of Two Cops, where the main character is challenging the evil forces plaguing the police corps while proving the innocence of his slain partner from corrupt allegations, has been used over and over again, but what makes this drama special is the part where a cop is sharing his body with the soul of a conman. I’m excited how Cho Jung-seok will bring to life and differentiate the characters of Cha Dong-tak and Gong Su-chang. It’s like a male version of Na Bong-sun/Oh My Ghostess and I’m highly anticipating how this handsome oppa will charm his way to the viewers’ hearts.
The plot of a drama may have been recycled numerous times but the beauty of it comes from the way the story is told. It is born out of the writer’s narration, flows from the director’s execution, and stems out of the cast’s emotion.
Lastly, I’m looking forward to Kim Sun-ho‘s acting after leaving a good image with his performance in Chief Kim and Strongest Delivery Man. Oh, and let’s not forget Hoya!
Two Cops in a Nutshell
The Heroes
The Goal: Find this masked rider…
…responsible for this.
While sharing one body….
…and maybe fall in love along the way. ❤
Tipsy Findings
Here’s the script reading of Two Cops with Cho Jung-seok,Hyeri and the rest of the cast members.
Actor Ji Sung sent a coffee truck to the set of Two Cops in support of Hyeri, his leading lady in Entertainer (Danddara).
❤ I have this wild theory, what if the Masked Rider is actually Dokgo Sung-hyeok (Hoya), Cha Dong-tak’s new partner. He seems suspicious, right?
See you on the next episode. Annyeong!
