K-Drama Reaction: Two Cops | Episodes 9-10

Two Cops Eps 9-10 showed us the not so lovable side of Gong Soo-chang. In earlier episodes, PDnim highlighted his charming points. Though he was introduced as a conman, a clear line was drawn on how Soo-chang does not prey on the weak or the kind to emphasize that he is lesser evil compared to the corrupt officials.

Soo-chang peeled another layer of his character in Episodes 9-10. He showed the audience that no matter how funny he is or how pleasing he is to the eyes, ultimately, he’s still a conman who will deceive those around him.

He fooled the cops, Yong-pal, the Bakery Ahjussis and even Song Ji-an.

Soo-chang also tried to deceive Mr. Park, the human trafficker whom Cha Dong-tak is going after, but he got way ahead of himself and put Ji-an in danger.

The Charming Conman thought he successfully deceived everyone but Mr. Park outsmarted him. Honestly, I got super annoyed with him in this episode. Ji-an trusted him with her life and she ended up being abducted because Soo-chang taught he’s more clever than everyone around him.

I’m scared that in the future Soo-chang will fool both Dong-tak and Ji-an when he’s put in a challenging situation or when it’ll be more beneficial to him.

Tipsy Musings

I find Hyeri super cute in this scene. Soo-chang was testing her if she could pass off as a high school student and it ended up in this hilarious scene.

Are the K-Drama genies trying to build a new couple? Uuuuggghhh, I want to ship Dokgo and Ko Bong-sook but I’m trying not to because it will go against my theory that Hoya is a bad guy. What to do, what to do?

Also, I think the pretty nurse will be Soo-chang’s partner in the end.

Tipsy Findings

One thing I love about K-Dramas is how quickly the actors can change from one character to another. One second you’re a funny and competent prosecutor then bam! You’re a human trafficker.

I know this face is familiar to K-Drama fans. He’s been a constant supporting character in many series. Actor Min Sung-wook entered the TV scene as early as 2006 with the KBS2 show Special Crime Investigation: Murder in the Blue House. In the same year, he also worked as an assistant director in the film Silk Shoes.

I first noticed him as the annoying reporter in the KBS2 rom-com Prime Minister and I starring Lee Beom-soo and Girls’ Generation’s Yoona.

Min Sung-wook took another reporter role as Jang Hyun-Kyu in the 2014 SBS drama Pinocchio.

In 2015, he played as one of the cops in Jang Na-ra‘s team in Hello Monster, also known as I Remember You. (Yeoreobun! This is one of my favorite Korean dramas of all time. If you have the time, do watch it.)

This versatile actor starred in the SBS sageuk Six Flying Dragons.

He also had a cameo in the 12th episode of MBC’s Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-joo along with Girls’ Generation maknae Seohyun.

Min Sung-wook played as Teacher Jung in School 2017.

And recently, he reunited with Lee Jong-suk and starred as the lovable Prosecutor Lee in While You Were Sleeping.

❤ How do you think Soo-chang will rescue Ji-an? Let’s find out in the next episode!
