What an emotionally charged episode! I don’t even know how to start because my tears are still flowing from watching these latest episodes. Yoo Seung-ho, you are a gem. Good job, young man. You deserve a Daesang!
The first half was pretty much set on a happy tone with Jo Jia (Chae Soo-bin) nailing that start-up entrepreneurship convention! I was really happy she got the chance to showcase her invention to the public, and no matter what happens, I’ll be rooting for her creations. I hate how some people brand her inventions as ‘useless, unnecessary piece of junk’, but still I am thankful for all those who appreciate it. Just like how Baek-gyun (Uhm Ki-joon) described it, the heart lamps were made possible through quantum physics, something that even Jia was not aware of. Her talent lies within her heart, can you think all the possibilities that she can invent if she had proper exposure with science?
But events immediately became a cry-fest once poor Kim Min-kyu (Yoo Seung-ho) confessed his love for Aji-3 (also Chae Soo-bin) to Baek-gyun hyung. So my hunch was right, that “realization” was not because he figured out Jia was a human. It was because he finally acknowledged his own heart – he truly loved Aji-3.
You know what’s more depressing than the realization that he fell in love with a robot? It’s the fact that every single person around him now (except Butler Ahjussi) is “involved” in this act. All his life, Min-kyu struggled with his interpersonal relationships, but all of this changed after Sta. Maria research team entered his life. They became his friends, and introduced him to Aji-3 which eventually became his cure. And now even his own doctor knew about the fake robot! Ahh, my heart is crying. What would Min-kyu feel once the truth is revealed? Everyone he trusted… betrayed him again. Will he be able to pick himself back up?
Jia, too… I can’t even imagine the pain that she’s been in right now. She almost got Min-kyu hurt because of their own act. They all did it for money, without weighing in the feelings of the person that they will victimize. Yes, I know they did it without malice, but the fact that they still deceived someone was beyond wrong, and with a severe allergy at that. Yes, he’s cured now, but all the “could have been” thoughts would always haunt her down.
A perfect background for another round of tears courtesy of this week’s episodes:
That hug with his doctor was one of the highlights of this drama!!!
I’m not crying, you’re crying!
