Am I the only one who thinks that Choi Soo-ji’s (Moon Ga-young) revenge plot against her ex-boyfriend Lee Ki-young (Lee Jae-kyun) is absurd? I mean, what can she get from dragging the innocent Eun Tae-hee (Joy) and the sheltered Park Hye-jung (Oh Ha-nui) in this mess? It is not as if they wanted to become Ki-young’s first love and target, respectively, right? Now, if it has something to do with Soo-ji’s belief that the best revenge is taking away the most cherished treasure of the person who wronged you, I don’t think it will work on Ki-young. He isn’t even pursuing Tae-hee in the first place despite being his first love because he’s a social climber who prefers Hye-jung more.
So, I think it’s a waste of time for Soo-ji to go as far as getting her friends Kwon Si-hyun (Woo Do-hwan) and Lee Se-joo (Kim Min-jae) involved in this crazy love game, and even befriending Tae-hee’s best friend Ko Kyung-joo (Jeong Ha-dam) to get insider tips about her revenge plot targets. I think, someone mature enough wouldn’t even dare to start a plot like this, and would just move on and focus on more important things.
For one, Soo-ji could’ve just focused on her mother and Si-hyun’s father’s looming marriage. If she dislikes it so much, then she must concentrate on making ways to stop it. Another important thing is Si-hyun’s marriage proposal to her that might also be the perfect solution to her first dilemma. It’s a fact that she and Si-hyun both like each other more than just a friend, that’s why I can’t understand Soo-ji for still having to test Si-hyun’s feelings for her. This could even result in a bigger problem for her because what if Si-hyun falls for Tae-hee for real? It’s a very possible scenario especially now that Tae-hee is starting to put her guard down around Si-hyun.
BEHIND SE-JOO’S MASK
I was shocked with how Se-joo turned violent upon seeing a man harassing Soo-ji at the club. This cemented my hunch that Se-joo deeply loves Soo-ji. His devotion to her is on a different level so I already feel bad for him because we all know that Soo-ji only has her eyes for Si-hyun. And what will make things even harder for Se-joo is the fact that it’s Si-hyun whom he considers as a brother.
His emotional side in front of her comatose mother is also a revelation for me in this episode. He is yet another proof that sometimes, the happiest people are the most emotionally wrecked ones.
ANOTHER LOVE TRIANGLE
It is now also confirmed that Si-hyun’s dad loves Tae-hee’s estranged mom. I’m worried that this might be another reason for Soo-ji to pursue her revenge plot against Tae-hee especially that she saw the two adults hugging each other. Again, this has absolutely nothing to do with Tae-hee so please, K-Drama gods, give Soo-ji a broader mind to understand things better.
