This series is treacherous.
Twist Upon A Twist
I’M SHOOKT. That sound so millennial and informal but I can’t process the fact that I didn’t see that plot twist coming. I thought they would drag the coma storyline until the end of the series but they wake Baek Joon-soo (Jang Geun-suk) up already.
I think I’m more shock than Oh Ha-ra (Han Ye-ri) when she realized she was talking to her real sunbae. This opens up a lot of thrilling possibilities for this series and I’m totally excited about it.
Utopic Pursuit
I’m on Sa Do-chan’s (Jang Geun-suk) side every time he questioned Ha-ra why the case their handling is so dangerous. I totally understand his hesitations as Ha-ra and Yang Ji-soong (Park Won-sang) are not keen on revealing a lot to this con artist. Turns out, they are facing a huge battle.
My misanthropic self keeps peeking whenever Ha-ra talked about punishing criminals, which are no ordinary people. The drug case involves powerful individuals (e.g. diplomats and conglomerate owners) which makes their goal looked like an unachievable utopia. I would really love to see them succeed in their mission despite my doubts.
Story-wise though, I really like that they are focusing on the main plot rather than filling it in with other sideline stories.
Mirror Effect
This series is not a romance drama but when they give out some sweet moments, they make sure it’ll totally be toe-curling. The subtlety of changes between Ha-ra and Do-chan’s relationship makes me crave for more. As you probably see, I’m already declaring the ship I’m supporting but if you are on the Team Joon-soo, I really like to hear why (Seriously, WHY?!). Ha-ra obviously harbors some feelings for Joon-soo but Do-chan will surely sway her to his side instead. Or it would be the other way around?
Maknae’s Episode Verdict
I think I have to go away and reflect because of my previous comments about this drama. The pilot week made it look like your typical legal drama with a little bit of a heist mixed to make it entertaining to watch. And I was blabbing about how the actor would probably save the whole series because their performances are excellent. But I was wrong. TOTALLY WRONG. This drama is unpredictable. I’m now totally sold with its story!
Dongsaeng’s Afterthoughts
– Is it in breach of the law if I ogle a prosecutor?
– I think I have been deprived for so long that this exactly how I look when Joon-soo started to remove his shirt.
– I can’t decide who’s sexier? The prosecutor or the conman?
