Everything changes but nothing changes.
Switch is filled with characters you want to know better. From its main leads to antagonists, every episode would leave you wishing you know more. But when So Eun-ji (Shin Do-hyun) brought up the topic of how they met Sa Do-chan (Jang Geun-suk), I realized I haven’t paid much attention to them. I just accepted them as they are without questioning where they came from. There is nothing more from Eun-ji and Jeon In-tae’s (An Seung-hwan) stories but my interest was piqued by Director Bong’s (Jo Hee-bong) dismissal of Eun-ji’s question. I believe he knew something about Do-chan’s past.
Blue is the new Orange
Oh Ha-ra (Han Ye-ri) thought he was deceived by Do-chan but he actually concocted a plan to reveal the syndicate’s drug transporter. I kind of felt bad that she cried but my shipper heart was smiling as I knew Do-chan is not after the drugs at all. Despite her suspicions, I think she really trusted Do-chan now. Her devastation when she thought she was stabbed in the back was a clear sign she already let her guard down to Do-chan. Baek Joon-soo (Jang Geun-suk) seem to have realized it too. I know they are busy saving the world but can we have some romantic scene? Jebal!
Cronus and His Son
Geum Tae-woong (Jung Woong-in) is one ambitious antagonist but he seems to have a soft heart towards his son, Cho Sung-doo (Kwon Hwa-woon). He let Sung-doo’s slip-up slide. This time though, he couldn’t escape the pressure to punish his own son because of mistakes. If Do-chan successfully saved Sung-doo, he could be valuable to their investigation. I’m cautiously banking on this plot progression but I don’t want to be smug about it yet because I can’t seem to predict what would happen next in this series.
Maknae’s Episode Verdict
The stakes are getting higher. The more the main characters dig, the deeper they get. They are facing a group that created an intricate process filled with people that will do anything to avoid being caught. I really understand if Ha-ra or Do-chan will feel frustrated with the results they are getting. Everyone they caught is just mere puppets of the real people they are targeting. With this kind of task they face, it was obvious they have no time to understand their personal feelings yet. So while waiting for them to come to terms with changes in their characters, I’ll just enjoy this thrilling chase of David and Goliath.
