K-Drama Reaction: Switch | Episodes 13-14

Who would win this game of hide-and-seek?

Oh Ha-ra’s Mission

Oh Ha-ra (Han Ye-ri) and Sa Do-chan (Jang Geun-suk) have undeniably good working chemistry but they still aren’t fully trusting each other. Ha-ra is making it a mission to find out Do-chan’s real motive. She agrees with Baek Jun-soo (Jang Geun-suk) that this conman would not be as invested as he is if he would not gain something from it. I’m also banking on Ha-ra to dig deeper about Do-chan. I’m really curious about his past. Do-chan’s character is really intriguing. Although we now know a lot of things about him, I still think there is more to discover.

The Son’s Mission

Geum Tae-woong (Jung Woong-in) would not admit it but he seems to have a soft heart for his son. His first priority is to gain power and he already had two chances to get rid of his invaluable son but he didn’t. If Do-chan’s investigation is on the right path, Tae-woong’s son is the grandson of the former Prime Minister and the current leader of the underground administration, Namsan Club. It also shows how normal Tae-woong’s past life was. He was a cop, a husband, and a father. Something must have happened for him to go to the wrong path and became so greedy.

I really like it when the antagonist has a story of his own. I like knowing their origins and how they became evil. This series has strong lead characters and I think it is because of its very effective villains. Now that Do-chan got a hold of Cho Sung-do (Kwon Hwa-woon), I wonder how he would use this important chess piece to corner the King.

Sa Do-chan’s Mission

We all know that Do-chan’s real mission is to uncover the truth behind his father’s death but he the truth he knew isn’t really the truth. Sa Ma-chun faked his own death probably to protect Do-chan. He is also plotting his revenge to Tae-woong and Choi Jung-pil for ruining his life. Their goals will probably overlap sooner than what I expected. I slowly getting invested with Do-chan and it’ll be heartbreaking to witness his reaction to his father’s deception. I wonder if he’s ready to know the extent of Grizzly’s greed and how it ruined his life.

Maknae’s Episode Verdict

Every time I watched an episode of Switch, I always thought I have figured it out well but then new things happened and it will surprise me again. I’m excited to know everything but I also don’t want this to end.

Dongsaeng’s Afterthoughts

– I wonder which side she’ll be.

– When a K-drama male lead starts to open up about his trauma… me:

– The warning that no female K-drama lead followed.
