Looks like we have a future hit in the works with Arthdal Chronicles trying to recruit some of the best in the Korean acting industry. Jang Dong-gun (Suits) has been the latest one to be offered to join the upcoming drama, which is also courting Song Joong-ki (Battleship Island) and Kim Ji-won (Fight for My Way) as other leads.
Arthdal Chronicles is a fantasy period drama of power, love, and growth that takes place in the city of Asadal, which is said to have been the capital city of the Gojoseon era.
The drama will be co-written by Kim Young-hyun and Park Sang-yeon who previously worked on critically acclaimed dramas Queen Seon-duk, Deep-rooted Tree, and Six Flying Dragons. It will be directed by PD Kim Won-suk, who has worked on successful productions like Misaeng, Signal, and My Ahjussi. It is slated to air in early 2019.
