Honestly, this is the first time that I will root for Poong (Junho) with all my heart. We all witnessed how he felt devastated after his marriage crashed down, then he lost his job, then his so-called friends betrayed him, then got beaten by a bunch of thugs, among other misfortunes that came in his way. I never pitied him for suffering all these things because he met Chil-sung (Jang Hyuk) and Sae-woo (Jung Ryeo-won). That’s his silver lining. Despite hitting rock bottom, he met a bunch of good people whom he can now call family. And for the first time in the 10-hour worth of watching Wok of Love, I am cheering for Poong to succeed. I saw in this episode his passion to create stunning dishes, and give his customers a meal that’s worth their money.
As I mentioned in my past reaction, I liked how straightforward this show is when it comes to confessions and rejections. Sae-woo was caught off guard by Poong’s rejection, but I liked how she filtered what he said and only took in what she liked to hear. He likes her but he forbids her to like him back. But then again, he already likes her. And that’s what important for Sae-woo – that he likes her, too!
But this development with the show’s OTP doesn’t sit well with my SLS. Hahaha. Seeing Chil-sung silently taking in the obvious attraction between Poong and Sae-woo really breaks my heart in so many levels. Jang Hyuk is so good in showing how Chil-sung is trying to be okay in front of everyone, but then deep inside he is hurting. He likes Sae-woo so much. She is the most beautiful person in his eyes, but sadly, Sae-woo’s eyes brightens up for someone else.
I am so excited for the Whole Shrimp Festival to start and watch Hungry Wok get filled with hungry customers. We’re halfway through the drama but I haven’t seen any single customer after that free lunch incident.
Poong is in trial-and-error with the dumpling soup that comes with the Whole Shrimp set meal, and it’s not getting any good results. My heart sank when Poong talked to that adorable kitty outside the Hungry Wok restaurant. He wanted to do better and to serve good food, but things don’t go his way. Though this could also have a double meaning after his cold treatment to Sae-woo. He likes her but he does not want to hurt Chil-sung Nothing right goes on his way.

The bromance is strong even with the girl coming in between them.
The bromance game is still strong even when they like the same girl. #WokofLove #GreasyMelo #JangHyuk #JungRyeoWon #Junho pic.twitter.com/vreLgMV8Up

Lee Mi-sook is slaying her dual roles!
Yay! Poong now allows the gangster brodies to work as delivery staff! Yes to self-improvement!

I’m kinda bored and only hanging here for Jang Hyuk and his character. I love the cast but not the story anymore. Still, thank you for these recaps 👍🏻
