“Relationship is cutting.”
Kang Hoon-nam (Namgoong Min) is a true Casanova. He could effortlessly lure a woman with his words and action. Although Yoo Jung-eum (Hwang Jung-eum) has been scarred by a man before, she is still not immune to Hoon-nam spellbinding charms.
It wasn’t his looks nor his romantic gesture that probably caught the attention of our female lead. It was most likely Hoon-nam’s attention to every little thing about her. He is that kind of man who pays close attention to every word his woman utters. Someone as jolly as Jung-eum can easily mask her fears and sadness but Hoon-nam can see through her facade.
I swoon every time Hoon-nam looks at Jung-eum like she was the most beautiful woman in the world. I wonder if he needs a mirror to see his expression whenever he was with Jeung-eum. I think he doesn’t even realize he was doing that heart-eyed looks.
Jung-eum’s father has said it correctly. Choi Joon-soo (Choi Tae-joon) needs to step-up his game before it becomes too late. But we all know second leads are cursed by K-drama genies in terms of their timing. They are either too early or too late. Joon-soo has that dependable streak all friends-to-lovers trope fans would love but Jung-eum doesn’t even see him as a man. She may rely on her from time-to-time but he couldn’t fill the void in Jung-eum’s heart.
Joon-soo was Jung-eum ‘constant.’ He wasn’t challenging her to move forward and grow. He was like a comfortable corner for Jung-eum where she could just stay and be afraid forever. Hoon-nam has a different effect on her. She was challenging her to be vulnerable and open her heart again. It might look enticing to choose what she was used to but it’s not what she truly needs.
EVERYONE WHO IS UNDER 18, PLEASE SKIP THIS PART I’m kidding you can read but you I should warn you that I would probably repeat the sexual tension for a lot of times. Why? Because these two actors are good at making things hot. I mean, it still probably depends on how you interpret it but I feel like Hoon-nam and Jung-eum are making love already with just the way they look at each other. Those millisecond moments before their lips touched felt like it lasted an hour. The undercurrent of sexual attraction was too much to take.
Maknae’s Episode Verdict
That kiss was one good way of making me forget last episode’s blunder. It reminded me how the two characters have already been shooting good romantic score points in earlier scenes. I wonder why the writer just won’t bank on how appealing characters are and stop introducing unnecessary trite plot devices. The story of the undeteables and the characters’ own hang-ups were enough for me to stay.
– Because every kiss in this series needs a gif version.
– Hoon-nam knows he is good looking ㅎㅎㅎㅎ
