This episode is filled with the characters’ best moments.
The Worst
Yoo Jung-eum (Hwang Jung-eum) and Kang Hoon-nam (Namgoong-min) have to face another ghost from the past. This time it’s from Jung-eum’s nightmares. Her jerk ex-boyfriend showed up suddenly and revealed to Jung-eum that Hoon-nam actually witnessed their very public break-up. Of course, it was a shock for Jung-eum. She’s embarrassed but Choi Joon-soo (Choi Tae-joon) knock some sense to her.
I love seeing Joon-soo playing Jung-eum’s best friend again. He is at his best when he becomes Jung-eum’s reliable buddy. Even Hoon-nam agrees that he can’t beat the bond between Jung-eum and Joon-soo. So, it was really a delight to see them comfortable with each other again.
The Oblivion
We all have some memories we want to forget. For Jung-eum, it was when she fell foolishly in love with the wrong guy. For Hoon-nam, it was his sad and lonely childhood. He found comfort with his favorite toys throughout that ordeal but he never let them go even when he grew up. He held onto his toys especially on nights he felt all alone. But it was time for him to let go.
Jung-eum made Hoon-nam realized he is no longer alone. She was ready to make him forget all about the bad memories. It was really a testament to how pure and mature their feelings for each other is. They accept each other’s flawed pasts and held each other hands while moving forward.
Maknae’s Episode Verdict
I’m relieved to see these characters heal old wounds. They are finally learning to let other people enter their world. They have come a long way and they truly deserve anything that made them smile now. I can’t believe we were almost at the end. The scenes were only starting to get better but then again all romance ends when the characters have their happy ending; it may be an imperfect ending but still a happy one.
