One thing I realized while watching this episode was that there was the love of Joo-hyuk (Ji Sung) for Hye-won (Kang Hanna) had no strong foundation. He had no memories with Hye-won; he doesn’t even remember their own wedding. All his memories consisted of Woo-jin and their kids. Hye-won was a mere image in his head. His love for Hye-won was mostly because of his idea of the “what if” and his huge college crush on her.
After the kiss in the playground, the drunk Woo-jin (Han Ji-min) seemed not to be regretting what she did. She even broke up with Jong-hoo (Jang Seung-jo) the very next day. Poor Jong-hoo 😢 But then again, I think it’s about time that they end their relationship even though I’m on their ship. Let’s be realistic, Woo-jin never felt any romantic chemistry at all with Jong-hoo. She tried to, but it’s just not working for her. And Jong-hoo is really a nice man and he doesn’t deserve to be led onto a relationship that’s one-sided. We all saw how Jong-hoo was as a charming bachelor, heck he was even a better husband and a father to his twins in his real timeline! Also, because of Woo-jin’s recurring dreams about Joo-hyuk, I couldn’t help but think whether Jong-hoo was having the same vivid dreams about his real life just like Woo-jin? Is everyone in this alternate universe having recurring dreams?
“But there wouldn’t be so many love stories in the world if people could control their hearts according to their will.”
I like it whenever Woo-jin opens up with Joo-eun (Park Hee-bon). Even though they were not really close with each other in their real timeline, at least in this alternate reality, they are BFFs. (I guess Joo-eun isn’t destined to be close to her sis-in-law whoever she may be.) Joo-eun also has this gift of describing Woo-jin’s problems in such a way that the audience would weigh in on the situation deeply. When she said that she would stand on neutral ground in the case of Woo-jin and Jong-hoo’s break-up because they are both her friends, I also started questioning myself in my reactions towards Woo-jin’s current dilemma. She is right. we may not be supportive of Woo-jin’s actions, but we certainly should not criticize her, too. Woo-jin is already struggling with her emotions, but it won’t help if Joo-eun would nag her for leading herself into this situation.
The heartwarming friendship between Jong-hoo and Joo-hyuk
I think I just found my new favorite bromance! I don’t know about you but it’s really admirable to see someone who can easily forgive his friend for lying to him about his girlfriend’s real feelings. I know Joo-hyuk didn’t technically stole Woo-jin away from Jong-hoo, but the fact that he kept him in the dark whenever he spent some alone time with Woo-jin is a bit off. Woo-jin is Jong-hoo’s girlfriend in this alternate reality, and Joo-hyuk is their third party in this situation. Jong-hoo just proved that he is the better man by still letting Joo-hyuk stay in his apartment despite everything. He is having a really hard time right now but he could never afford to abandon his friend.
Office romance to the next level
I know this is an unpopular opinion, but I really don’t agree with the current love bird situation at the KCU Bank. Half of the branch’s population are all dating each other! Spell a-w-k-w-a-r-d. The dating set-up somehow feels like What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim? now. But I’m rooting for the team leaders to end up together, though! LOL. I almost cried when Jang teamjang (Kim Soo-jin) helped Manager Byun (Park Won-sang) talk to his daughter.💕
Finally Woo-jin’s dreams now have a face!
Now that Woo-jin finally realized that Joo-hyuk was the other main character in her dreams, I really thought the drama would pursue their love story in this alternate reality. But after seeing that preview, I don’t want to talk anymore! The level of unpredictability of this drama is A+!
