K-Drama Reaction: Familiar Wife | Episode 15

This one was a filler episode, which consisted of all the fluffy stuff. I felt like because Episode 14 was too good, the drama ended there and these last two episodes were just fillers to satisfy our eyes with more cheesy couple time. But overall, seeing Cho Jung-seok reprise his role as the feisty Kang Sun-woo, I’m always in. I was not used to seeing Kang Cheffy without Na Bong-sun around him, but at least we also got to have a sneak peek of Park Bo-young unni’s latest hit movie, “On Your Wedding Day.” That’s counted as cameo, too, right?

Fun fact: The showbiz screen name of Kang Sun-woo in this cameo was Edward Kang. “Edward” was the name of Seo In-guk’s character when he made his cameo appearance on Oh My Ghost.

“You have try to make it work, even if you are not fated to be together.”

In this episode, Sun-woo was apparently Woo-jin’s (Han Ji-min) sunbae in college and first love. Well, we all knew that Joo-hyuk (Ji Sung) was supposed to be her one and only love, but because of the time travelling fiasco, their love history was revised, too. Sun-woo was as always the successful (and charismatic) Cheffy, and makes his advances on Woo-jin – which did not sit well with Joo-hyuk. Since they are now officially a couple, keeping their relationship a secret at work was always a struggle and the presence of Edward Kang was the ultimate test. Joo-hyuk could not keep it any longer and suddenly announced their relationship in front of everyone.

Joo-hyuk also proposed marriage to Woo-jin in this episode in a very charming way. He used a bank passbook to write his intent thoughtfully (which made me gush all over my seat), but Woo-jin had a different idea of a marriage proposal. She wanted to have the proposal during the roller coaster ride, which was hilarious and thrilling in my opinion. Who would want to do that??? LOL. But fine, all is well after the proposal and the two are now back on track with their timeline as a future married couple.

GRUMPY ALLEY

We also got to witness the lovely wedding of the very emotional Sang-sik (Oh Eui-sik) and Joo-eun (Park Hee-bon) in this episode!

Also, MOM. She is just adorable I’m going to miss her.

One thing that’s bugging me, though, was the scene where someone entered the toll gate without showing his or her face! What’s going on? Did I miss something important here? Or is it just another random visitor who is desperate to change his future?

  1. Familiar Wife had been something different from what I was expecting from the teasers…& It surprised me & overdid my expectations…I am glad I decided to follow this one…specially for Ji Sung ❤ …He had been perfect in his character like his previous ones… Will definitely miss this show…Glad how it ended up with a happy ending & everything went to routine ….

Watching Jo Jung-suk reprising Kang Sun-woo's, my first reaction was I was looking for Na Bong Soon & how I found her on big screen 🙂 …
Hoping to see him in full fledged drama soon 🙂

    1. Yes agree with everything you said! I also thought this would be a different fantasy drama, but it turned out even more realistic than other human dramas out there. And Ji Sung… man, even though others really hate his character, I loved him in this one. He acted JH so perfectly I was crying when he knelt in front of WJ in that cafe 😦

Also agree to a reunion project for Cheffy and Na Bong-sun! ♥ one of my all time fave OTPs!
