Kim So-hyun (Radio Romance) has chosen her newest drama through the Netflix adaptation of the webcomic Love Alarm.
The drama is based on webtoon “Joahamyun Woolrineun” by Cheon Kye-young. Kim So-hyun is set to portray the bright and carefree high school student Kim Jo-jo who has a painful family background.
Love Alarm is set in a society where a smartphone application lets its users know when someone within a 10-meter radius has feelings for them. The drama tells Kim Jo-jo’s adventure in using the ‘love alarm’ app and the two male best friends who both like her.
Ahn Hyo-seop (Still 17) was initially offered the role of the male lead, but declined.
PD Lee Na-jeong (Fight My Way, Oh My Venus) will direct the drama. It will be available for streaming on Netflix in 2019 and will consist of eight episodes.
