Shin Se-kyung (Black Knight) and ASTRO member Cha Eunwoo (My ID is Gangnam Beauty) have both been offered the lead roles in the upcoming period drama “Rookie Historian Goo Hae-ryung” (literal translation).
Both of their agencies confirmed that they are positively reviewing the casting offers, respectively.
Rookie Historian Goo Hae-ryung will revolve around the ordeals of 19th century Korean women who were vilified for writing historical records. The heroine Goo Hae-ryung (role offered to Shin Se-kyung), is an aspiring historian who will fall in love with Prince Yi Rim (role offered to Cha Eunwoo), a no-girlfriend-since-birth young royal who also moonlights as a popular romance novelist in Hanyang. The story aims to portray the challenging journey of female historians interning at the palace.
The drama aims to broadcast on MBC’s Wednesday-Thursday slot.
