Idol-turned-actor Kim Myung-soo/INFINITE’s L (Angel’s Last Mission: Love) has been confirmed as the lead in the upcoming small screen adaptation of the webtoon “Welcome” (literal translation).
The drama is a fantasy romantic comedy based on the webcomic “Eoseowa” by Go A-ra published from 2009 to 2010.
The production company Gil Pictures announced the casting of Kim Myung-soo and that the negotiations with the other lead actors are now in its final stages.
Welcome tells the story of Sol-a, a jaded woman who lives on her own and happens to take a cat named Hong Jo (to be played by Kim Myung-soo) home. Unknown to Sol-a, Hong Jo lives a double life and has the ability to transform into a human. Her life is about to change as Hong Jo will help her heal her emotional wounds.
It will be directed by Ji Byung-hyun (Big), and will be written by Ju Hwa-mi (Marriage, Not Dating, Introverted Boss).
The drama is scheduled to broadcast on KBS in March 2020.
Kim Myung-soo recently left Woollim Entertainment and is currently not signed with any agency.
