Netflix announced that it will team up with director Lee Eung-bok (Mr. Sunshine, Goblin, Descendants of the Sun) to produce the new original drama “Sweet Home.” It will be topbilled by Song Kang (Love Alarm), Lee Jin-wook (Voice 3), and Lee Si-young (Liver or Die).
Joining them are Lee Do-hyun (Hotel del Luna), Kim Nam-hee (Search: WWW), Go Min-si (Love Alarm), Park Gyu-young (Nokdu Flower), Go Yoon-jung (He is Psychometric), Kim Kap-soo (Chief of Staff 2), and Kim Sang-ho (Kingdom).
The drama will be based on the popular thriller webtoon of the same name by Kim Kan-bi and Hwang Young-cha. It revolves around a world in which people turn into monsters that reflect their own individual desires.
After losing his family, a reclusive high school student Cha Hyeon-su (to be portrayed by Song Kang) moves into a new apartment where he faces bizarre and terrifying circumstances. Lee Jin-wook will appear as the mysterious Pyeon Sang-wook, while Lee Si-young will play the tough Seo Yi-kyung, an original character created for the Netflix adaptation
Sweet Home is produced by Studio Dragon, and written by Hong So-ri, Kim Hyung-min and Park So-jeong. It is scheduled to premiere in 2020.
