Lee Sin-young (Crash Landing on You) and Kim So-hye (Best Chicken) are cast in the upcoming KBS2 drama “Friend Contract” (literal title), alongside Shin Seung-ho (At Eighteen), who was previously reported as one of lead characters.
“Friend Contract” is based on the webtoon of the same name written by Kwon Laad. It is a dark and heavy-themed youth drama told from the perspective of high school students Park Chan-hong (to be portrayed by Lee Sin-young) and Heo Don-hyuk (to be portrayed by Shin Seung-ho).
High school student Park Chan-hong has yet to find his life’s dream, but he is pressured by his parents about his studies. One day, his classmate Heo Don-hyuk, a working student, saves him from a school bully and borrows money in return to pay for his rent. They form a bond eventually as they spend time together after school since the money lent to Heo Don-hyuk by Park Chan-hong was supposed to fund his prep school tuition fee.
Meanwhile, Kim So-hye takes on the role of Eom Se-yoon, Chan-hong’s friend and schoolmate.
The drama is produced by Kakao M’s drama production company Mega Monster. Yoo Young-eun (Queen of Mystery, Just Dance) will direct the drama and the screenplay will be written by Kim Ju-man.
Friend Contract looks to air in June 2020 on KBS2.
