Song Seung-heon, Seo Ji-hye cast in new webtoon remake

Song Seung-heon (The Great Show) and Seo Ji-hye (Crash Landing on You) will be K-dramaland’s next OTP after the confirmation of their lead roles in the latest MBC drama “Shall We Eat Dinner Together?” (literal title).

The drama will be based on the webtoon of the same name, “Shall We Eat Dinner Together?” which portrays the love story of two people who met while lining up for dinner. Song Seung-heon is set to appear as Kim Hae-kyung, a psychiatrist who diagnoses and treats patients through food. He is also a food psychologist who is not easy to please when it comes to critiquing food. Meanwhile, Seo Ji-hye will star as Woo Do-hee, a jaded girl who experienced heartbreak. The two accidentally had dinner together, eventually, get to know each other through their frequent meals together, and find true love over food.

The drama will be a reunion project of Song Seung-heon and producing director (PD) Go Jae-hyun, who worked with him on his previous dramas The Player and Black, while the script will be written by Park Jae-bum (The Fiery Priest).

Shin Min-a (Chief of Staff) was first offered the lead female role, but she declined.

Currently, Apink‘s Son Naeun (The Most Beautiful Goodbye) and Lee Ji-hoon (Rookie Historian Goo Hae-ryung) are also in talks to star in the upcoming drama.

Shall We Eat Dinner Together is slated to take over MBC’s Monday and Tuesday slot after 365: One Year Against Destiny in May.
