Shin Hae-sun (Angel’s Last Mission: Love) and Kim Jung-hyun (Crash Landing on You) are set to lead the upcoming tvN fusion sageuk “Queen Cheorin” (literal title).
Shin Hae-sun will topbill the drama as Queen Kim So-yong, a royal from the Joseon period whose body is possessed by a presidential chef from the present time. Kim Jung-hyun will play as King Cheoljong, a gentle and easygoing king who hides a lot of secrets.
They will be joined by veteran actors Bae Jong-ok (Graceful Family) and Kim Tae-woo (Tale of Nokdu). Bae Jong-ok will appear as Queen Regent Sunwon, the late King Sunjo’s wife who also truly rules the country which makes Kim Jung-hyun’s character as just the puppet king. Kim Tae-woo will take on the role of Kim Jwa-geun, the queen regent’s younger brother who is equally ambitious and power-hungry.
The drama is written by Park Gye-ok (Doctor Prisoner) and Choi Ah-il (Lovers of Six Years) and is directed by PD Yoon Sung-shik (Hwarang).
It will air on tvN with no scheduled release date yet.
