tvN finally confirmed the casting of Suzy (Vagabond), Nam Joo-hyuk (Light in Your Eyes), Kim Seon-ho (Catch The Ghost), and Kang Han-na (Designated Survivor: 60 Days) in the upcoming drama “Start-up” (tentative title).
Suzy will play Seo Dal-mi, an ambitious woman who wants to be South Korea’s version of Steve Jobs. She raises money for her dream start-up business through her part-time jobs after dropping out of university.
Nam Joo-hyuk takes on the role of Nam Do-san, a math genius who is also the founder of Samsan Tech. For the past two years since starting the company, he is still far from making enough profit. Coincidentally, Nam Do-san is also Seo Dal-mi’s “cool” first love to which he decides to make this assumption into reality.
Kim Seon-ho will appear as Han Ji-pyung, a very competent team leader at SH Venture Capital. He is known to be the “Gordon Ramsay of investments” because of his sharp tongue and impressive investment portfolio. Kang Han-na signs on the role of CEO Won In-jae, a second-generation chaebol who is estranged from her family. She seems to have everything – good education, beauty, and wealth, but she climbs up the ladder of her own success through building her own start-up business.
This will be a While You Were Sleeping reunion of the writer-PD tandem with Suzy as the drama will be written by Park Hye-ryun (I Hear Your Voice) and directed by Oh Choong-hwan (Hotel Del Luna).
The drama will air this October on tvN’s Saturday and Sunday 21:00 time slot previously occupied by Stranger 2.
