Yoo In-na (The Spies Who Loved Me) has now been officially named as part of the upcoming drama “Snowdrop” (working title).
Joining her in the drama are BLACKPINK’s Kim Jisoo (Arthdal Chronicles), Jung Hae-in (A Piece of Your Mind), Yoon Se-ah (Stranger 2), Kim Hye-yoon (Extraordinary You), Jang Seung-jo (The Good Detective), and Jung Yoo-jin (Catch The Ghost).
Yoo In-na is cast for the role of Kang Chung-ya, a reputable yet mysterious surgeon who works a government hospital.
The drama is set in 1987 with Seoul being placed under a dictatorship. It will revolve around Im Soo-ho (to be played by Jung Hae-in), a Korean-German student who trespasses inside Hosoo Women’s University dorm while covered in blood. He will be saved by Eun Young-cho (to be played by Jisoo), a cheerful English Literature major whom he had met before through a blind date. Young-cho will take care of Soo-ho’s wounds even though it’s dangerous, and the two will eventually fall in love with each other.
Yoon Se-ah is earlier confirmed for the role of Pi Seung-hee, the notorious housemother of Hosoo Women’s University dorm, while Kim Hye-yoon will play Kye Boon-ok, a phone operator at the dorm who had to stop schooling because of her family’s financial struggles. Boon-ok will join Young-cho in the blind date pretending as a college student.
Jang Seung-jo is set to play the role of Lee Kang-moo, the principled leader of the National Intelligence Service (NIS)’s Team 1, while Jung Yoo-jin will play Jang Han-na, a passionate and hot-tempered NIS agent.
Snowdrop is a reunion project of PD Jo Hyun-tak, screenwriter Yoo Hyun-mi, Kim Hye-yoon, and Yoon Se-ah who all worked together in the 2018 smash hit SKY Castle.
The drama already began filming and will premiere in 2021.
