In Spotlight: Shin Hae-sun Filmography

Shin Hae-sun’s path to stardom didn’t happen in an instant. She started with minor roles until she finally grabbed the character that put her into the spotlight. However, it was evident that she always shine no matter how small her roles are. She always gives a memorable performance in every role given be it a pawn, a rook, or a Queen.

School 2013 (KBS2 / 2012-2013) – Shin Hae-sun (student)

She made her acting debut in the KBS drama “School 2013” as one of the students.

Angel Eyes (SBS / 2014) – Cha Min-soo (young)

She appeared in the 2014 SBS drama “Angel Eyes” as the younger version of Hyun Jyu-ni’s character Cha Min-soo.

One Summer Night (2014) – So-ra

She appeared in the short film “One Summer Night” as the flight attendant Sora who sent a college student (played by Go Kyung-pyo) who had a crush on her on a mission to disturb her ex.

High School King of Savvy (tvN / 2014) – Ko Yoon-joo

Her debut year ended with another minor role in the tvN romance-comedy series, High School King of Savvy which stars Seo In-guk and Lee Ha-na.

Oh My Ghost (tvN / 2015) – Kang Eun-hee

Shin Hae-sun was cast in two hit series in her second year in the industry. One of which is tvN’s Oh My Ghost as Kang Eun-hee, sister of Jo Jung-suk’s character chef Kang Sun-woo.

She Was Pretty (MBC / 2015) – Han-sul

She was one of Hwang Jung-eum’s colleague in another hit series, She Was Pretty.

A Violent Prosecutor (2016) – electoral district bookkeeper

In 2016, she earned the nickname “luckiest girl” after filming a kissing scene with Kang Dong-won in the film “A Violent Prosecutor.”

Five Enough (KBS2 / 2016) – Lee Yeon-tae

Before being cast in the 2016 family drama “Five Enough” (aka Five Children), she had to audition twice for her character as the elementary school teacher Lee Yeon-tae.

The Legend of the Blue Sea (SBS / 2016-2017) – Cha Si-ah

Do you remember her fun portrayal as Cha Shi-ah in the hit drama Legend of the Blue Sea? Aside from her hilarious meltdowns because of her one-sided crush for Joon-jae, her character’s love line was one of the show’s memorable plot twists!

A Day (2017) – Mi-kyung

Shin Hae-sun finally grabbed her first lead role in a film through the mystery thriller A Day. The 2017 flick was topbilled by actors Kim Myung-min and Byun Yo-han.

Stranger (tvN / 2017) – Young Eun-soo

She was perfect for the role of Prosecutor Young Eun-soo in Daesang awardee Stranger/Forest of Secrets.

My Golden Life (KBS2 / 2017-2018) – Seo Ji-an

She topbilled the hit drama “My Golden Life” as Seo Ji-an, a contract worker whose life turned upside down after being revealed as the long-lost daughter of a wealthy family.

Still 17 (SBS / 2018) – Woo Seo-ri

She was then paired-up with another rising actor, Yang Se-jong in the rom-com series, Still 17.

The Hymn of Death (SBS / 2018) – Yun Sim-deok

She reunited with her fellow School alum, Lee Jong-suk in a six-episode series, The Hymn of Death. The film was based on the real-life tragic romance of Kim Woo-jin and Yun Sim-deok.

Angel’s Last Mission: Love (KBS2 / 2019) – Lee Yeon-seo

In 2019, Shin Hae-sun played a traumatized ballerina in the KBS series Angel’s Last Mission: Love. She won the Top Excellence Award in the KBS Drama Awards while she and Kim Myung-soo got the Best Couple Award.

Innocence (2020) – Jung-in

In 2020, she played her first lead role in the legal drama film Innocence alongside veteran actors Bae Jong-ok and Heo Joon-ho. During the press con, she shared that one of the reasons she accepted the role is because female-led legal dramas are uncommon in the industry and that her fans wanted her to play a role of a lawyer because of her clear diction.

Collectors (2020) – Curator Yoon

Just this year, she hit the Korean box office with the heist film “Collectors” as an elite art curator who teamed up with a group of grave robbers to uncover ancient treasures from the Joseon era buried in a royal tomb in Seoul.

Stranger 2 (tvN / 2020) – Young Eun-soo (ep.16)

She made a guest appearance in the second season of Stranger together with other Season 1 cast Yoo Jae-myung and Lee Kyu-hyung.

Mr. Queen (tvN / 2020-2021) – Kim So-yong

She currently stars in the time-slip drama “Mr. Queen” as the wacky Queen Cheorin, a royal from the Joseon period whose body is possessed by a presidential chef from the present time.
