Jeon Do-yeon (The Good Wife) and Ryu Jun-yeol (Lucky Romance) are both set to topbill the upcoming JTBC drama “Disqualified as a Human” (literal title).
The drama revolves around the struggles of ordinary people in finding their own spotlight. An older woman facing a steep decline in her life meets a much younger man fighting a steep uphill battle to reach his dreams. Jeon Do-yeon will lead the cast as Boo Jung, a 40-year-old ghost writer who still feels lost, empty, and anxious despite everything she experienced in life.
Ryu Jun-yeol signs on the role of Kang Jae, a 27-year-old businessman who is always ready to take risks to reach his goals. Despite his efforts to become a wealthy young man, he feels like he still achieves nothing.
The drama is the first ever drama project of movie director Heo Jin-ho (Forbidden Dream, Princess Deokhye, One Fine Spring Day). The script is written by Kim Ji-hye (My Love, My Bride, Architecture 101).
The other cast members include Apink‘s Son Na-eun (Dinner Mate), Park Byung-eun (Oh My Baby), Jo Eun-ji (Entertainer), Kim Hyo-jin (Private Lives), and Park Ji-young (When I Was The Most Beautiful).
The drama will premiere in the second half of this year.
