Choi Woo-shik, Kim Da-mi reunite to lead new drama

Choi Woo-shik (Youn’s Stay) and Kim Da-mi (Itaewon Class) have both signed on to lead the first original drama under Studio N, “Us That Year” (literal translation).

Us That Year is a coming-of-age romantic comedy about a former couple who vowed never to meet again after breaking up 10 years ago. However, the documentary they filmed in high school suddenly became viral, and they are now forced to appear in front of the camera once again.

Choi Woo-shik is cast for the male lead role of Choi Woong, a once free spirit who now does his best to get something that he wants for the first time in life. Kim Da-mi will play the female lead character Gook Yeon-soo, a goal-setter who dreamed of being the top student in high school. As an adult, Yeon-soo adjusts to the harsh realities of life.

This coming-of-age drama will be a reunion project for Choi Woo-shik and Kim Da-mi who both starred in the film “The Witch” in 2018.

Us That Year will be produced by Studio N, the production behind Strangers from Hell and True Beauty. This project will simultaneously air an original drama and a webtoon version which will be published on Naver. The drama features the characters as adults while the webtoon series will be a prequel of their high school days.

The drama will have 16 episodes and filming will start in the second half of 2021.
