Online video streaming platform WAVVE has announced the casting of Yoon Si-yoon (Train), EXID’s Hani or Ahn Hee-yeon (Not Yet Thirty), and Park Ki-woong (Old School Intern) in the original drama “You Raise Me Up” (working title).
You Raise Me Up is a comedy series about Do Yong-sik (role to be played by Yoon Si-yoon), a 31-year-old student who prepares for the civil service exam. He will reunite with his first love during a medical check-up. The drama will revolve around Do Yong-sik’s journey in rebuilding his broken self-esteem.
Hani will play as Yo Dong-sik’s first love, urologist Ru-da. She is a competent doctor with a good family background. Her only flaw is her over-confident boyfriend.
Park Ki-woong will appear as Hani’s problematic boyfriend, psychiatrist Do Ji-hyuk. He runs a counselling center in the same building. He has everything in life – old money, promising career, and impeccable visual – but this reflects to his toxic relationship with his girlfriend.
You Raise Me Up will be directed by PD Kim Jeong-han while the script will be written by Mo Ji-hye.
The drama will be produced by Studio S and will be released exclusively on Wave in the second half of 2021.
