Im Soo-jung (Search: WWW) and Lee Do-hyun (Youth of May) are set to star in the new tvN drama “Melancholia” (literal title).
The drama revolves around the lives of students and teachers of a private high school riddled with corruption and preferential treatment.
Im Soo-jung has been confirmed for the role of the tenacious math teacher Ji Yoon-soo. She is kind-hearted yet firm in her decisions and goals in life. She is also really passionate about math and encourages her students to find their own solutions to math problems.
Lee Do-hyun will play the character of math genius Baek Seung-yoo. He doesn’t talk much and enjoys spending his time in photography. He ranks last at school but used to dominate various Math Olympiads when he was younger. He even qualified for the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) at age 10, but suddenly dropped out at age 12.
Melancholia will be directed by Kim Sang-hyub of (Extraordinary You, True Beauty) and the script will be written by Kim Ji-un (Doctor John, Hyde Jekyll Me).
