Kim Dong-wook, Kim Sung-kyu, Chae Jung-ahn confirmed for “The King of Pigs” adaptation

Kim Dong-wook (You Are My Spring), Kim Sung-kyu (D.P.), and Chae Jung-ahn (Monthly House) are set to star in the upcoming TVing original drama “The King of Pigs.

The drama is based on the award-winning animated film The King of Pigs, a thriller that delves into school bullying, violence, and systemic poverty.

Kim Dong-wook leads the pact as Hwang Kyung-min, who has been living with the trauma he experienced in middle school as victim of bullying and violence. He now lives happily with his wife, until an unexpected death happened that triggered his past emotions to resurface. He will reconnect with his middle school friend Jung Jong-suk for a reunion after 20 years of mutual silence. 

Kim Sung-kyu will play the role of Detective Jung Jong-suk, who will trace the mysterious messages sent by Hwang Kyung-min. This strange reconnection will cause him remember the school violence that took place from 20 years ago, and now, he is determined stop any more murders from happening.

Chae Jung-ahn takes on the role of principled detective Kang Jin-ah, a sunbae of Jung Jong-suk in Police University. They will work together in chasing down the mysterious serial killer plaguing the city.

The drama is directed by Kim Dae-jin (Less Than Evil, Hotel King) while the script will be written by Tak Jae-young.

Filming begins this August and the drama aims to premiere by the end of 2021.
