Filming has been completed for the much anticipated Disney+ sci-fi thriller “Grid” (early working title was Zero). The confirmed cast consists of Seo Kang-joon (When the Weather is Fine), Kim Moo-yul (Bad Guys: Vile City), Kim Ah-joong (Live Up to Your Name), Kim Sung-kyun (D.P.), and Lee Si-young (Sweet Home).
The drama is about a mysterious entity called the Grid which saved humankind in the late 90s then disappeared. The story revolves around a group of people who chase the Grid’s creator 24 years later after it resurfaced to help a serial killer escape.
Seo Kang-joon will play Ki Sae-ha, the tenacious management office employee who has been waiting for an opportunity to catch the “ghost,” the creator of the global shield Grid. Kim Ah-joon will play Jung Sae-byeok, a detective who finds the clue to the mystery. She will work together with Ki Sae-ha to find the “ghost” involved in a murder case that she’s working on.
Kim Moo-yul takes on the role of Song In-jin, Seo Kang-joon’s workmate in the management office who may be reluctant in the missing “ghost” case, but will eventually get involved in the chase.
Kim Sung-kyun will transform as the serial killer Kim Ma-nok, an orphan who lives alone with no family and friends but receives unsolicited protection from the mysterious entity.
Taking on the critical role of the “ghost” is Lee Si-young. She created the Grid in 1997 and has since saved mankind for 24 years, but re-appears to save a serial killer.
The drama will be directed by Khan Lee (The Divine Move 2 – The Wrathful) while the script will be written by Lee Soo-yeon (Forest of Secrets, Life).
Grid will stream on Disney+ in the first half of 2022.
