Lee Kwang-soo (Live), Kim Seolhyun (Awaken), and Jin Hee-kyung (Somehow Family) have been cast as the lead of tvN’s upcoming drama “Murderer’s Shopping List” (literal translation).
Murderer’s Shopping List is based on the novel of the same name by Kang Ji-young about a mysterious murder that took place in the vicinity of an apartment building and the hunt for the killer using only a supermarket receipt.
Lee Kwang-soo will lead the cast as Ahn Dae-sung, a part-timer at a supermarket owned by his mother. He has an impressive memory and a timid personality. He used to be a genius, but after an incident when he was 10, his life took a different turn. He has been taking the 9th-grade civil service exam for three years through the support of his mother and girlfriend.
AOA’s Kim Seolhyun takes on the role of Ahn Dae-sung’s girlfriend and police officer Do Ah-hee. When a body is discovered near an apartment building where Dae-sung’s supermarket is located, she investigates the case and is determined to catch the culprit. The only clue to the murder is a receipt that was issued from the supermarket.
Jin Hee-kyung will star as Jung Myung-sook, Dae-sung’s mother and owner of MS Supermarket. She is described as feisty and loving at the same time. She takes care of her both her husband and son. Gifted with business acumen, Jung Myung-sook was able to grow her small neighborhood store into a large supermarket that takes up an entire two-story building. She will help her son Dae-sung and his girlfriend Ah-hee in looking for the suspect in the murder case.
Murderer’s Shopping List is directed by Lee Eon-hee (The Accidental Detective 2: In Action) and the script will be written by Han Ji-wan (The Ghost Detective).
The drama will air on tvN in the first half of 2022.
