Kim Woo-bin (Uncontrollably Fond), Esom (Taxi Driver), and Kang You-seok (Light on Me) are all confirmed to star in the upcoming Netflix original series “Black Knight” (working title).
The drama takes place in an air polluted world in 2071, where people depend on respirator masks to breathe. Only one percent of the human race has survived, and a strict social stratification has been established in the deserted lands of the Korean Peninsula. Delivery drivers play a crucial role within this system, and for refugees, becoming a delivery driver is their only hope for survival. The webtoon-based drama will revolve around a legendary delivery driver “5-8” with exceptional battle skills and a refugee “Sawol” who dreams of following in his footsteps.
Kim Woo-bin leads the cast as the legendary delivery knight “5-8” who is highly skilled in physical combat. He is set to meet Sawol (to be played by Kang You-seok), a refugee boy who is also his longtime admirer.
Esom takes on the role of Seolah, a military intelligence major at the Defense Intelligence Command. She saves Sawol’s life and looks after him like her own family.
Black Knight will be helmed by director Cho Ui-seok (Master, Cold Eyes, The World of Silence).
