BTOB’s Yook Sungjae (Mystic Pop Up Bar) and DIA’s Jung Chaeyeon (The King’s Affection) will lead the upcoming drama adaptation of the hit webtoon “Golden Spoon” (literal translation).
Yook Sung-jae will play as high school student Lee Seung-chun, a child born from a poverty-stricken family who uses a mysterious golden spoon to switch fates with a friend born from a wealthy family. He hates living in a poor environment. One day, he will meet an old woman who asks him to buy a gold spoon to change his parents. Using the spoon, he needs to eat three meals with someone his age at their house in order to exchange lives.
Jung Chaeyeon has been cast as the female lead, but the drama has yet to release her character description as of writing.
The drama will be directed by Song Hyun-wook (The King’s Affection, Another Oh Hae Young, Beauty Inside, Graceful Friends) while the script will be written by Kim Eun-hee and Yoon Eun-kyung (Winter Sonata, Sweet 18, Prime Minister and I).
This will be Yook Sung-jae’s comeback drama following the completion of his mandatory military enlistment in 2021.
Golden Spoo is scheduled to premiere in the second half of 2022.
