Lee Yoo-mi (All of Us Are Dead), Ong Seong-wu (Would You Like a Cup of Coffee?), Byun Woo-seok (Moonshine), Kim Hae-sook (Tomorrow), and Kim Jung-eun (My Dangerous Wife) will star in the “Strong Woman Do Bong-soon” sequel titled “Strong Woman Kang Nam-soon.”
Strong Woman Do Bong-soon was a romantic comedy starring Park Bo-young, Park Hyung-sik, and Ji Soo. It follows Do Bong-soon (Park Bo Young), a young woman with superhuman strength. She finds love and aspires to realize her ambition of working as a game creator.
Do Bong-soon’s distant cousin Kang Nam-soon, who possesses tremendous strength, will now be the focus of the sequel. Her mother, Hwang Geum-joo, and grandmother, Gil Joong-gan, all wield considerable power. The drama is directed by Kim Jung-sik (Work Later, Drink Now) while the script is written by Baek Mi-kyung (Mine). It focuses on the realities of emerging drug offenses in Gangnam.
Hwang Geum-joo, an affluent and pious woman in Gangnam who has been obsessively doing nice deeds in order to find her missing daughter, will be played by Kim Jung-eun. Kang Nam-soon, a humorous and cheery young woman with great strength, will be played by Lee Yoo-mi. She was missing in Mongolia and came to Gangnam in search of her parents. Gil Joong-gan, Kang Nam Soon’s maternal grandmother, will be portrayed by veteran actress Kim Hae-sook.
Ong Seong-wu will play Kang Hee-sik, a detective with a covert investigation team probing drugs in Gangnam who Kang Nam-soon has his eye on. Byun Woo-seok will play the part of Ryu Si-oh, a charismatic antagonist.
The drama will be filmed this summer and will premiere in the first part of next year.
