Song Ha-yoon (History of Losers), Lee Dong-hae (God’s Quiz Season 4), Lee Min-jae (Cheer Up), and Jung Woo-yeon (A Good Supper) are all confirmed to star in the drama adaptation of the classic Korean animation Oh! Youngshimi (literal translation).
This romance comedy series tells the story of a reunion between childhood friends who met again in their 30s. Production company The Great Show said the show will have modern and retro vibes and will reproduce the pleasant and warm atmosphere of the original animation.

Song Ha-yoon will take on the titular role of Oh Young-shim in her 30s who has been working as a producing director (PD) in the entertainment department for about eight years. Her character is described as an “icon of early endings” by the people in her department because her programs tend to get cut early. She one day got an opportunity to produce a pilot romance variety show where she finds out Wang Kyung-tae, her childhood friend who has been chasing her for a long time and eventually became a famous start-up CEO, has been cast for the show.
Wang Kyung-tae or Mark Wang will be played by Lee Dong-hae. He is the CEO of the popular startup company unicorn Kingvely. His character is described as a cold-looking perfectionist. He reunites with his first love Oh Young-shim through the variety show and recalls painful memories of his childhood.
Lee Min-jae will take on the role of Lee Chae-dong, Oh Young Shim’s junior colleague while Jung Woo Yeon will play Gu Wol-sook, Oh Young Shim’s best friend.
The drama adaptation will be helmed by directors Oh Hwang-min (Fly, Again), and Kim Kyung-eun and will be written by Jeon Seon-young (A DeadbEAT’s Meal). The series has finished filming and is scheduled to air in the first half of 2023.
