Lee Jung-jae (Squid Game) has been confirmed as the lead in the upcoming “Star Wars” series “The Acolyte,” which will air on Disney+.
The Acolyte will be set a full century before “Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace.” According to Variety, the upcoming series is said to “depict the galaxy at the peak of the era of the High Republic, when the Jedi were at their strongest and the Sith were believed to have been eradicated from the galaxy.”
He will be joined by Amandla Stenberg and Jodie Turner-Smith. “Russian Doll” co-creator Leslye Headland will take the helm as the showrunner, director, writer, and executive producer.
