Park Bo-gum (Encounter), Park So-dam (Parasite, Cinderella and the Four Knights), and Byun Woo-seok (Flower Crew: Joseon Marriage Agency) have been cast as the lead stars of the upcoming tvN drama “Record of Youth” (literal translation).
“Record of Youth” is a coming-of-age story of young professionals who go through the challenges of career advancements and family relationships.
Park Bo-gum plays the lead as the model-turned-actor Sa Hye-jun, a well-known in the international modeling industry but has failed in acting auditions. He is a warm person, yet very realistic and practical. He is from a poor family background, but will strive hard to achieve his dreams.
Park So-dam will appear as the makeup artist Ahn Jung-ha, a cheerful yet lonely person who lets out her stress and frustrations by her fangirling over Korean idols.
Byun Woo-seok will take on the role of another model-turned-actor Won Hae-hyo. His rich family background has set out a career path for him, but he always seems to fall short. He is best friends with Sa Hye-jun.
The drama will be helmed by producing director Ahn Gil-ho (Forest of Secrets, Memories of the Alhambra) and screenwriter Ha Myung-hee (Doctors, Temperature of Love).
Jang Ki-yong was initially offered a role in the drama, but declined.
