Let’s Break Up

Yoo Jung-eum (Hwang Jung-eum) decided to end her relationship with Kang Hoon-nam (Namgoong Min) after finding out that it started out as a bet. Jung-eum was determined to avoid Hoon-nam at all cost but the latter is more determined to win her back. I’m not really sure how to feel about their break-up. As I hate the bet plot but I’m also glad that it is finally over. Hoon-nam’s letter said it all. The way he started was wrong but in the end, his final destination is Jung-eum. I wonder if Jung-eum can see it that way too.

Meanwhile, Yook Ryong (Jung Moon-sung) and Coach Yang Seon-hui (Oh Yoon-ah) have broken up too. You might think I detest Coach Yang because of my previous comments about her but I’m quiet happy that she finally realized she deserves better. She should not settle with Jerk Ryong. It might be a break they really need. This is a good way for him to realize what he is taking for granted.

One More Chance

Hoon-nam was dumped for the first time but he won’t surrender easily. He used all of his theories to try and get Jung-eum back. He even helped her find Mr Kim. Jung-eum was successful in making Mr Kim realized he should not run away with his feelings for Ms Oh even if it is scary. But I guess people are just good at giving advice but they don’t really follow it. Jung-eum didn’t give Hoon-nam a second chance. I thought the words she said to Mr Kim reached her heart as well. I was totally wrong though. I wonder how Hoon-nam will react on this “real” break-up.

Maknae’s Episode Verdict

Things are not looking good for our main couple. It seems like Jung-eum’s previous experience is holding her back. She was obviously scared of getting hurt again. Even though there are moments I really dislike in this series, I am still rooting for the characters to grow and overcome their own inner turmoils.
