Because I Love You
For someone like Kang Hoon-nam (Namgoong Min), saying those three words is not an easy feat. He saw how his biological mother and the mother he came to know suffered from the so-called love. He vowed not to fall in love if he would only end up hurting someone. So that confession really struck my heart as it was a big progress in Hoon-nam’s character. It showed his feelings for Yoo Jung-eum (Hwang Jung-eum) is giving him courage to become more open about what he feels. This also triggered Jung-eum to share his equally scarred past. The sincerity in Hoon-nam’s confession reached her and it made her decide to gamble her heart again.
I’m A Fool
Choi Joon-soo (Choi Tae-joon) thinks Jung-eum is being foolish again. I beg to disagree. I think she is just being brave. The way she defended herself to his accusation made Joon-soo realize his friend was just following what she thinks could make her happy. It was time for them to move forward but that doesn’t mean their 30-year friendship will end there. Even Hoon-nam approached him and convince him to just trust Jung-eum’s decision. Anyway, he should just focus his attention to Lee Susie. They have undeniably good chemistry.
Speaking of fools, Yook Ryeong is the total fool here. He is now suffering because of his own mistakes. He took Coach Yang for granted and it was too late for him to realize his feelings for this woman.
Maknae’s Episode Verdict
This series is back on my good graces. The annoying trope they introduced is finally out of the way and they can now instead focus on the characters’ real problems. The ghosts of their pasts are still lingering. I expect that their families’ feud will be in the way of their happy ending. Hopefully, they are now braver to face their problems instead of running away from it.
